Charles Dickens' Rochester
The Vines

April 2011

The Vines is a green area directly adjacent to Restoration House, The Vines originally derived its name from the monks of nearby St. Andrews Priory who used the area as their vineyard. Charles Dickens loved this park and was seen walking here just three days before his death in 1870.
