Charles Dickens' London
Gads Hill

April 2011

Gads Hill Place was Dickens' home for the last 10 years of his life. He admired the house as a boy and his father told him if he worked hard he may some day come to live there. Dickens bought the house in 1856 and moved there in 1860 after the separation from Catherine. He died there on June 9, 1870.
